Japari School is an independent
school catering for children with learning potential,
but who struggle within the conventional mainstream
educational system. Established in 1966, Japari consists
of an academic staff of specialist teachers and a
multi-disciplinary team comprising
Speech and Language, Occupational, Play, Physio,
Remedial, Music and Art Therapists. Each child entering
Japari has an Individual Education Plan developed
catering for that particular child's strengths and
weaknesses.
It is the stated goal of Japari to re -integrate her
pupils back into the mainstream education system when
they have achieved the necessary
age skills in all physical, emotional and scholastic
areas.
Japari is registered with the Gauteng Education
Department, The Independent Schools Association of
Southern Africa and has been granted provisional
accreditation status with Umalus.
The Japari Therapy and Assessment centre offers a wide
spectrum of assessments in the stated areas above
including psycho-educational
assessments, school readiness and career guidance.
