RemSpecED starts a Learning Development Centre

RemSpecED is looking for therapists interested in practicing at the RemSpecED Learning Development Centre. The centre would like to offer the services of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Physiotherapy and Remedial Therapy to children needing learning development support.

Vision: The RemSpecED Learning Development Centre will provide a high quality, multi-disciplinary intervention program for children with learning development needs. It will be regarded by therapists as a source of mentorship and clinical quality. It will be regarded by parents as a support and an efficient intervention practice to optimally facilitate their child’s development.

The RemSpecED Learning Development Centre will be located in Albertville, Johannesburg. This area is easily accessible to the areas of: Northcliff, Roosevelt Park, Emmarentia, Linden, Melville, Westdene, and Roodepoort. There are very few therapy services in this area. The RemSpecED Learning Development Centre hopes to open fully in January 2010, but is available immediately.

Facilities:

* Manned reception and waiting area
* Large consultation rooms, Gross motor room, and furniture.
* Some therapy equipment, games and materials.
* Management of billing and collection as requested / needed.
* Mentorship for Occupational Therapists by Paula Barnard-Ashton.
* Multi-disciplinary environment to provide an integrated and managed program to children with learning development needs.
