Barney, BJ and Baby Bop visit Cape Town for the first time!

Capetonians are in for a special treat from 30 August to 1 November, when BJ and Baby Bop will, for the very first time, join everybody’s favourite dinosaur, Barney, at The Baby Expo Cape Town, happening at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The three energetic dinosaurs will present their brand new beach show ‘We’re All Friends’ at the Expo each day, which will have parents and their kids rocking and rolling in the aisles. Barney is a purple and green Tyrannosaurus Rex, who sends children on a magical journey of the imagination through song and dance. His theme song is "Barney is a Dinosaur”. Barney’s favourite foods are peanut butter and jelly (jam) sandwiches made with pumpernickel bread, and vegetables.

BJ is a seven-year-old Protoceratops who loves sports, especially baseball, and likes to visit Barney to play and meet new friends. BJ can be a little absentminded and is usually looking for something he has lost. Baby Bop, a loveable bright green Triceratops who carries her blanket wherever she goes, is BJ's little sister. She is only three but is kind-hearted and very polite. Barney and his three supa-dee-doopa friends will have children singing along with best-loved song, “I love you, you love me” and many other tunes while learning how to unlock their imaginations.

The Baby Expo is the only parenting and lifestyle exhibition in the country licensed to bring the world’s favourite dinosaur trio to their pint-sized South African fans. Jam-packed audiences at The Baby Expo Johannesburg in May demonstrated just how much children love Barney. When purchasing an entry ticket to The Baby Expo Cape Town at Computicket, visitors must not forget to reserve their free ticket to the Barney Show because Barney has many friends and seats are limited. All seating is unreserved and entrance to the Barney Show will open approximately 30 minutes before the show starts.

The Baby Expo Cape Town will bring over 200 of the very best and latest baby brands to local visitors. Exhibitors will be running exclusive show specials and competitions, making the exhibition an absolute must for parents-to-be. “The Baby Expo is the ideal opportunity to gain knowledge about pregnancy, being a parent and experiencing the latest products under one roof,” explains Projeni Pather, exhibition director of The Baby Expo. “There will be workshops and show features that cater for each individual’s needs throughout the day; where moms and dads will be able to pick up valuable tips and advice straight from the experts about what to expect for the next few years.”
