The Baby Expo Durban in celebration of all South Africa’s Superhero families

Since its first expo in 2005, The Baby Expo™ has proved to be streets ahead of its competitors by creating the biggest child and parenting expo in Africa and by producing the most advantageous platform for new businesses to launch their baby products and services.

This year’s theme at The Baby Expo is giving recognition to all the superhero parents in South Africa and their families. Inspired by the admired, colourful worlds of cartoon characters and action figures, this fun-filled acknowledgment is to celebrate the superhero within each parent and will set the stage for thousands of unstoppable pregnant women and parents of children aged 0-6 to come together in one place.

With the highly successful Johannesburg outing having come and gone, The Baby Expo turns its attention to Durban parents and will be in the city from 28 – 30 August at the Durban International Convention Centre. “The Baby Expo is the ideal opportunity to gain knowledge about pregnancy, being a parent and embracing the latest products under one roof,” explains Projeni Pather, exhibition director of The Baby Expo. “There will be workshops and show features that cater for each individual’s needs throughout the day; where moms and dads will be able to pick up valuable tips and advice straight from the experts about what to expect for the next few years.”

With over 200 top brands you can be sure to see and sample the very best and latest products for you and your baby. And to make the visitor’s stay a lot more fun and rewarding, the exhibitors will be running exclusive show specials and competitions. The Nestlé Kids Kitchen is a new feature that was launched at The Baby Expo Joburg in May and will also be making its way to Durban. The fully functional kitchen will include a working area, kids demo area and visitor seating. The area will be a continuous hub of activity, in a semi-enclosed casual environment, with live food demos and nutritional workshops. Nestlé will also be setting up a special baby food court which will be part of The Baby Expo’s main restaurant area at each show making it fun and exciting for both parents and children.

Another big draw card to The Baby Expo is the all expenses paid pregnancy, which gives away a prize to the value of R150,000 to one very lucky mum to be. “Then for the VIP guests – all our kids - that visit The Baby Expo, our very own purple hero Barney™, brought to you by Baby City, will be joining us. This year he has also invited his very special friends, BJ™ and Baby Bop™ to join him on stage and our visitors will be treated to their ‘We are all friends’ show,” continues Pather.

The Baby Expo has proved to benefit leading brands, and to create leading brands from what was once a small business idea. The expos are a great opportunity to launch innovative products, reach new customers and establish companies as recognisable brands. “With all your hard work and dedication to your family it’s time to sit back and relax. Come and celebrate your super family status with The Baby Expo and enjoy all the shows, workshops, products, entertainment and so much more. We look forward to welcoming you.
